This plant is part of the Zingiberales family, it is native to the equatorial forest in Brazil.  It prefers not to have direct contact with the sun as it can burn its leaves, but it likes abundant light. It is from hot and humid climates, in cold environments you should avoid low temperatures.
 It is a peculiar plant because it reacts to changes in light, causing its leaves to close and open as needed (Nictinastia). It is a great indoor plant that does not go unnoticed.
